On A Date with Izi Angus

On A Date with Izi Angus

We sit down with Brisbane-based content creator, Izi Angus. Izi shares with us her day-to-day routine, her most important piece of relationship advice and her go-to looks this Valentine’s season.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.

I’m Izi Angus, a stylist and creative based in Brisbane.

WHAT DOES A DAY IN YOUR LIFE TYPICALLY LOOK LIKE?

I start every day with a coffee, followed by Pilates at 8am. I spend the rest of the morning on emails, planning shoots and organising my week. I usually shoot or edit content in the afternoon. After dinner, I love sitting down with my partner to watch something and decompress. We’re currently watching and loving Boy Swallows Universe.

I adore the Kennedy dress. It's minimal, understated, and the silhouette is incredibly elegant."

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF A PERFECT VALENTINE’S DAY?

Alec and I always celebrate Valentine’s Day on either side of February 14th. We find the atmosphere slightly more special when fewer people are celebrating the same thing around us! We love to do a nice dinner out, usually somewhere new every time. On Valentine’s Day itself, we stay in, make ‘movie salad’ (popcorn with chocolate!) and watch a movie together.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL EXTRA SPECIAL ON A NIGHT OUT?

Nothing makes me feel more special than being around my friends and family. The best nights out are always the ones where I’m surrounded by my inner circle.

WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE PIECE OF RELATIONSHIP ADVICE?

Respect is the most important thing - respect for your partner and for yourself! Speak openly about everything and always find time to check in with each other.

WHAT WILL YOU BE WEARING THIS VALENTINE’S DAY?

GALENTINE’S DATE
The Eclipse set would be divine for a Galentine’s night out or long lunch. The colourway is so fun and the bias-cut skirt is perfect for dancing after dinner.
I love the high neckline and how it gives the whole outfit a refined appearance. For a night with the girls, I would elevate the look with an updo and a pair
of statement earrings.

DATE NIGHT
I adore the Kennedy dress. It’s minimal, understated, and the silhouette is incredibly elegant. I would wear this for date night with my partner, whether it’s a casual dinner or somewhere a bit fancy. The lightweight fabrication and white colourway make it super versatile. I can dress it up with a statement bag or diamanté heels - or style it down with ballet flats for an effortless look.

ME-DATE
Even though I rarely wear colour, I feel like Valentine’s Day is a great time to go bold with the Cecilia Top and Gracie Pant. I love the movement of these pants, and the ensemble pairs beautifully with some simple strappy heels.
I would wear this on a little Me-Date to the movies or to brunch -
it’s stunning and incredibly comfortable!
